Goldman Sachs executive pay.
Goldman Sachs is a top global investment bank so one would expect its top executive pay package to be the best in its industry. However, that's not the case. It pays its CEO about $30 million annually, which is on par with its banking peers such as JP Morgan, Citi Bank, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. But it is nowhere close to what other financial firms (operating in a slightly different financial services segment) pay such as Blackstone ($166 million), Apollo ($155 million) and KKR ($68 million).
Recently, its CEO David Solomon, asked his company's board to reevaluate executive pay package. There will be a non-binding shareholders' vote this week, but the Board of Directors would take the final call. Any significant pay hike could invigorate pay hike demands from peer company executives and CEOs.
