USA is now the largest producer of oil, not Saudi Arabia

The USA is now the largest producer of oil. It now produces 50% more oil each day than Saudi Arabia - 13 million barrels a day compared to 8.5 million barrels a day by Saudi Arabia.

Until 2018, Saudi Arabia used to be the biggest producer of oil. However, from 2018 onwards, US has overtaken it.

It is also now the world’s biggest exporter of liquified natural gas.

The below chart shows the oil production of USA compared to a few other major oil producing countries.

All numbers are in million barrels per day. For example, 13 means 13 million barrels per day.
